i hope im posting in the right place
hi i have lost 4 stone in as many months trough running and waights training and also limiting my cals in a day i have also used some suppliments, i have gone from 16 stone to 12ish and i am 5 ft 4 in. i am running about 8 to 10 k on a treadmill with incline and every second day doing high intensity running in five min bursts, the thing is that i want to do a fun run for local charity, my questions are if the run is 10k should i be aiming for 15k on the tread mill as i have heard that treadmill running is easer than road running, can i run in my trainers (new balance) or do i need special ones, baisicly im looking for any help or tips that could help me to finish i know its only 10k and some of you probubly do a lot more then that but a few months ago i got breathless going up stairs now i can do waights for 40 mins and then run for an hour, its like i have cought the bug for running any help would be great thanks

If you can run 10k on a treadmill, you can run 10k on the roads.

If you can run a particular distance on a normal training day, you can run a good bit further than that during a race with the extra motivation and a few days pre-race taper.

So you're not going to have any problems with a 10k fun-run.

Did you get your runners in a specialist store, from someone who knows what they're doing. If you did then they'll be fine for the roads. If not, then after 4 months of running it may be time you do treat yourself to a trip to a running store like amphibianking (check the tread on where to buy shoes).

They can't be that wrong for you anyway if you're running every day without injury.

Congratulations on the impressive 4 months :)

Congrats on the weight loss. Great stuff.

Running at a 1% incline on a treadmill is the equivalent to running on the roads apparently.
