Drug test after having them legally

A query in the Work & Jobs forum put this question into my head:

As weed is legal in Amsterdam, if it were detected in a drugs test for your company, would you still get a fail even if you had proof you went to the 'dam, and had smoked the weed there legally?

The company (presumably) doesn't want drug users - they don't care where you used the drug.

I would be careful regarding bland statements that drugs are legal in Amsterdam. Less criminal doesn't necessarily mean legal.

Weed is just tolerated in very small amounts in Amsterdam. It is not legal by any stretch of the imagination

Technically, the company would be well within their rights to refuse someone on the basis that they suspected them of substance abuse - whether this be alcohol, tobacco, heroin, antidepressants, etc etc.
Having a medical to back up these suspicions would be useful.
