I'm not trying to troll or make anyone jealous, but I just secured my ringside seat for Raw tonight in Madison Square Garden to witness the return of The Game, and was wondering if there are any other posters who are in New York at the moment that are also heading.

    God bless eBay....

I'm not sure what side im going to be on, im not sure how 'ringside' the tickets are (sellers can be generous to their descriptions), but they are in a very low numbered section so they should be as close as possible.

Definitely, I will wack up a few pics, on an absolute buzz right now :D

Only thing is, have to wade through the taping of SNME firts, would rather skip that and head straight into Raw, as the matches and promos in SNME will probably spoil Raw to some extent.

yeah my mate in toronto was at the last SNME taping before raw and he said they talk about things that havent happened yet,he said the change from the snme stage to the raw set is a sight to behold though, they rerig the whole setup in 15 minutes

Say hi to Sheiky for me!

    EDIT: Ooh, more surprises!
Mick Foley, Nikolai Volkoff, D-Lo Brown and Evander Holyfield are also set to be at Raw/SNME according to the Observer. Holyfield will probably be involved with the MVP vs Matt Hardy boxing match. Or he could be Vince's son

hey man seen ya with the irish flag at the start , good seats!!! funny ya could hear the crowd shouting kennedy during that segment

    Just in...

Man that was one hell of a night.

I'm going to try and get pictures and vids up in the next day or so, but i'm not sure how they are going to turn out. I didnt have my own camera with me (doh!) so I had to borrow a friends really old digital that had limited space. My seats were really sweet, not quite ringside, but about 7 rows back form the barrier. The garden actually seems really small, much smaller than on t.v. p.s I wasn't the guy with a flag, I was in a Yankees shirt. I have Sky+ Raw so I'm looking forward to watching it when I get back, as the camera was on our section a number of times.

The atmosphere in the garden to begin with was electric, before any of the shows started there was plenty of back and forth Cena chants, one side for, the other against. Also way too many woooooo's, if you can have too many :D

As you can read reports everywhere on the net, I don't want to write one, I will just give you what I thought was interesting
The Sunday night Heat match/dark match was some jobber against.....frickin D'LO Brown. That was a nice surprise, and D'Lo got a huge pop when he came out. No chest protector though..:(

Unusually they taped Raw first, and then SNME which meant I guess Raw was on delay and not technically live.

A small point to begin. Has anyone else witnessed Lilian sing live, she can really belt them out, had the hairs raising on the back of my neck with some of the notes she was reaching.

I thought in general Raw was a decent, if not a very good, episode. But that might be because I was there. The bits with Vince turned out very well. Loved the way he said Steph was all about the monnnaeee, the monnnaee.

Cryme Tyme got a huge pop, cause they is from Brooklyn.

Anytime Regal was on screen, he was a hoot, his one liners were killer, and while the WWE idol bit was a bit generic, it was great to have Foley in the building, along with the sheik.

The biggest let down of the night was HHH not showing up, when Lawler said 'this guy' and his music hit, the place went nuts. That though slowly turned to a chorus of boos when people realized they were getting jipped. I don't know what the booking was behind that. Everything was set in place for him to return, and MSG is not the type of crowd you want to mess with. However, as you will read later, this boo boo was more than made up for.

The main event was decent. I guess the best aspect to it was the tension between the two sides of the audience regarding Cena. Similar to Mania.

I'm not sure if it was the same on T.V, but they must have aired at least 4 Orton promos, I think its clear who's walking away with the belt come Summerslam.

Thats all I have to saw really for Raw. Like I said, I thought it was a steller enough episode, and being there live, was a once in a lifetime opportunity, great memories.

In regards to SNME, I really wasn't looking froward to this that much, seeing as I initially thought it would take place before Raw, and would be pretty lame as it appears WWE won't be doing anymore SNME's after this one, so why rellay put any effort into a sinking ship. Boy was I wrong.

In many ways SNME topped Raw. It was refreshing that I got to see Smackdown and ECW wrestlers after seeing the Raw Roster. Of note, Batista, Kane, Finaly, Matt Hardy, MVP, Kahli - terrible wrestler, but awe-some in the flesh, Johnny Nitro, and of course the one and only CM Punk.

All the SNME matches were decent, nothing amazing though. However, again the skits with Vince and Coach turned out very well.

Matt hardy was to have a boxing match with MVP, but it turned out with MVP hiring/befriending Evander Holyfield to box for him. This I wasn't sure how would turn out, but WWE did it very well. They even splashed out and got Michael Buffer (lets get readddddy to rummmblllllllllle) which was really class and gave MSG a real buzz. Matt seemed to be taking some decent blows form Evander. It ended with MVP arguing with Holyfield and getting knocked out by him - to a huge pop. Overall, this whole match/bit was very over with the crowd and a nice change of pace. the crowd gave Evander a standing ovation as he was leaving, a nice touch, as him and the Garden go way back.

Cena fought Carlito, which again was decent but nothing spectacular. As with Raw, the crowd was all over the shop with Cena. After the match was over, Orton interfered. Its worth nothing that Orton was beginning to get some major pops from the certain sections of the crowd, and even though I have always loathe the guy, in a X-pac heat way, I was beginning to see the attraction. Anyways, Randy gets Cena on the outside, sets up a chair, and RKO'd Cena's head into the chair, the crowd went ballistic for this, with Orton/holy $hit chants filling the building. Credit to Orton and Cena, they sold this part very well. Randy cut a chilling face afterwards which they showed for about a 1min on the Titan Tron and I imagine will come acroos well on t.v giving Summerslam a nice build.

The night finished off where it began, with Vince, Coach and the paternity sketch. When Vince came out, whole portions of the crowd were doing the arm waiving 'were not worthy' bit. I guess New York is Vince's true wrestling home and the fans really do appreciate everything he has done.

Anyways, Coach says he thinks he has narrowed the list of possible offspring down, and has located Vince's child. First, Eugene comes out, then Balls Mahoney, and then Malina. Each time Vince is shocked and says that each one can't be his child. Each 'child' had there own funny story/response and I would imagine comes across well on t.v but, the Melina one was particularly funny, as Vince says there is no way she can be his daughter because the two have had 'intimate relations', the look on Melina's face was priceless.

It looked like the bit was just about over after Melina was done. Vince asks if there is anyone else. Coach is kinda squirming and says no, but Vince knows there is one more candidate. Coach just wants to leave it at that and head off, but Vince insists Coach brings em out. Because of the Internet reporting, alot of the Crowd were chanting for, and expecting Kennedy. There was about a 30 sec pause, and then bam, the sound of glass breaking hits the building, STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN is here!!! The garden was going mental at this stage, particularly because no one had a clue Austin was going to be there. I wont give too much away, but Stone Cold is on flying form, from beer bathes, stunners, and classic Austin comedy. This truly was amazing and more than made up for HHH not being there.

The only other thing of note is that afterwards I was able to get right at the front of the employee entrance and be in the flesh of, Cena, JR, Batista, Mark Henry, Lilian, Shelton, and Carlito and co.

All in all, it was a smashing night, one I will not forget. On top of seeing 4 hours of live WWE, I got the unexpected treats of Foley, D'Lo, Buffer, Holyfield, and Austin. WWE really did push the boat out for MSG. HHH would have been the icing on the cake, but I guess they are saving that pop for next week, and like I said, Austin's unexpected appearance more than made up for it.

I would love to hear from anyone else who was there, and what they thought, and what people in general thought about Raw.

No doubt I have forgotten some things, which I will add later, along with any photos and vids that I can salvage.

**EDIT I HAVE ADDED PHOTOS**. Unfortunatley, as I suspected, the quality of them is not great, and photobucket has them in a weird order. My apologies. I hope the videos turn out better.http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb150/charlie_mchugh/

I f*cking KNEW HHH wasn't gonna be on RAW, and anyone that knows me personally will agree with that. His return was the selling point for Summerslam as none of the matches are. They're not gonna risk losing that!

Sounds like ya had a good night tho, glad you enjoyed it :)

Yeah, I was kinda surprised at the reports saying that HHH would be at Raw, the whole thing was that "he returns at Summerslam". The real prospect of Cena losing his title is the only other thing selling the show

About MSG being smaller than you thought it looked on tv, charlie, I always thought it looked pretty small! Sounds like a great night

That WWE Idol search had me worried, I was convinced it would fall flat after the brilliant segment last week, but it turned out good. The start was great, although I really am a mark again for anything Foley related. I'm surprised that Sheik was able to not slip into his "gay **** motherf*ckair" tirade! Santino was a whole lot better again, his accent and his facial expressions were very good. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be able to keep segments like this watchable if they keep it up though

Basically, if it's not advertised, never assume. ESPECIALLY if it's rumoured. The heavy rumour was that he was actually meant to be there and pulled out at last minute. I personally don't believe a word of it.

I do wonder now that he's advertised to return at Summerslam if it will be too soon, ala Vengeance 01 and have advertisements that he's coming back when he's nowhere near it ;)

MSG crowd sucked, well at least on tv.

**** you Cena!!! I know there was more 'smark' fans than most of the time, but where was the 'we want heyman' when Stephanie came out?

Chants of boring through a Charlie Hass match? Was that some sort of practical joke?

Wow sounds like you had a hell of a good night, and I gotta say that was definitely one of the better Raws that I have seen lately.
It could have been lack of sleep but that bit when Flair went into Vinces office, stood behind him and said "WOOOOOOO" had me in stiches. The grin on Rics face was priceless.

Guess I'm gonna have to watch SNME now, its not shown on sky is it?

Was in NY for a long weekend for my girlfriends birthday, had the chance to go to RAW but she didn't want to go, and I couldn't get anyone else to go either (some friends of ours were also over there!!).
Bit sickened TBH, especially because Austin showed up!

Anyhow, was in the Garden the day before for of all things, a womens NBA match (Great exciting finish to it!!!) and have to say, like it has already been posted, the Garden is way smaller looking inside than when you see it on tv for wrestling or concerts, great venue though!
