I'll be traveling lots and lots over the next year... mostly far flung and exotic places, and a few holidays too.

Anyone recommend the best and cheapest multi-trip travel insurance please.

    Thanks... G23

AIB was €42 for me back in March (provided you have VHI already).
    Year-long, multi-trip

Do you not have to be a VHI member to get their insurance? I know you used to.
Anyway try justcover.ie i got that link from the boards travel links sticky.
I think it was €63 for two people which is better than VHI's €43 per person.

If you're in a trade union, many of them offer annual insurance. Mine is €65 for the year.

Cheapest isn't always best - not all products provide the same levels of coverage - check out the cover provided before you make you final decision.

Reading the above topic from AAB, it seems hard to claim for things such as cancelled flights (thinking Ryanair).

I heard some good things about American Express travel insurance and did a search:

    https://www.etravel.americanexpress.com

However expensive and not available on the Irish market.

    Reading the VHI's T&Cs:

    Hole in One
We will pay You €50 in the event of Your scoring a hole-in-one
    during Your Trip.

some golfer out there might confirm this but i was told that you can insure against a hole in one as you have to buy the whole clubhouse a drink if you are lucky enuff to get one ?/???

Fairly comprehensive policy and great value, allows you to travel for 60 days at a time and 180 days in a year.

The main selling point of the policy is that pre existing conditions are covered which not all insurers wil cover.

The add ons are okay. Personally i wouldnt go for them but then again loads of people lost out on skiing at the start of the year because of lack of snow.

The hole in one benefit is a joke, id like to know what evidense you have to provide to make the claim
