Ok so i should definately of llooked into this in more detail earlier but things have crept up on me and i've been caught out.
The roofers are currently doing the roofing and lat and felting will be finished fri week.
now the problem is i dont know enough about alternatives to lead flashing and to make it worse they have not used anything other than lead either.
basicly we need flashing, counter flashing, chimney aprons, and the non lead equivalent of soakers. and we need them in the next 2 weeks.
they are also worried about not being able to work with whatever the alternative is as it might require different skils/tools.
does anyone know what my options are, can anyone help?

    thanks

Maybe I'm still hung over from last night but I haven't a clue what your point or question is.

This might be a bit silly, but why are looking for an alternate to lead, purely environmental reasons? or is there more to it

was thinking of rain harvesting down the line and it is reccomended to use lead free flashing to avoid poisoning the water? i know it wont be drinkable either way but i cant imagine it being so good for the daisy's either!

There are plenty of sites with advice on this, Try www.oldhouseweb.com and go to the "how to" "roofing & gutters " page. Easy enough to follow with good diagrams.

With all due respect but in the absence of lead valleys the amount of lead poisining that will come from what lead u are using is pretty minimal in the over all context.

Do u have any Waterford Crystal?

Anyway on water harvesting, the most common route is not to use it for cooking or drinking, just the toilets, washing machines, showers etc
