Roscommon man my self, i was at the game, ros played a lot better than i thought. a draw would probably have been a fair result but im not complaning! i never thought id see rescommon win a hurling trophy in croker!!

    yer thoughts on the game?

As someone with Roscommon connections, I was happy to see this too. There are strong pockets of Hurling in Roscommon and they need to be supported.

not the first time Ros have won a hurling game in croke park

we'll need to improve for next year though

It was a good entertaining game, given the level it was played at.

The 2 big issues with it, as with the Christy Ring Cup, was the lack of high skill and the pace at which the game was played at. But this fact is seen when a Junior team moves up to Intermediate, or an Intermediate team moves up to senior.

I thought Armagh looked very strong, physically - a lot like their football team and seemed to be cathing huge amounts of high ball, especially in their backline. Why Roscommon didn't pull on the dropping ball was a wonder to me as it was putting their backs under enormous pressure.

If Armagh had fed their number 13, I think his name was coulter, he could have won the match on his own for them. He reminded me a lot of Cathal Noughton from Cork with his pace and vision.

Its good to see Roscommon winning some titles and that they have recovered from that mauling by Antrim last Summer. Both teams are in the Christy Ring next year, however they might struggle to keep their heads above water in the grade. Only time will tell...

Being from Roscommon I am delighted for the players. I'm sure it was great to win in Croke Park. They were certainly delighted with the win last week in the U21 Thurles.

The big problem is they are in such a low division - it is a huge come down for Roscommon football to be in the Nicky Rackard in the first place. Their natural home is in the Christy Ring.

Still it is great to be winning games and the standard is improving. Also the team is young by in large - so it does bode well for the future. Very impressed with the manager - taking the tough decisions like taking off Reddington and moving Sweeney out to midfield when needed etc.

Well done to Roscommon but one question do they now get promoted to the main Championship next year

great win for the rossies, good to see a nice blend between good young hurlers and some old wise heads that steadied the ship. Theres a nice blend there to work with the next few seasons and the management seem to know they're strengths and limitations which is good too. This together with our league and U21 success means Rossies are on the right road, be interesting to see how we fair over the next few seasons, if we get promoted and how we play at the next step up.
:):):):):) But overall a great season for Roscommon Hurlers :):):):):)

Now I know that Roscommon are going throught a rough patch, but I didn't think they had gone back that far. :D

Well spotted:D I'm from a dual club and even I must have a problem mentioning Ross and Hurling in the same sentence:confused::):)

Still I suppose they are competing at about the same level as the footballers at the moment. Hopefully next year will bring better things for the footballers.
