Help with a Golf(prob something simple)

    After buying my first car, a 1.4 2001 golf. Not picking it up til Wednesday but am buying my bits for it now and i bought a new gear knob today but can someone tell me how to go about changing it.

    You'll need to break the clip that is currently holding the knob to the lever. You'll also need a new clip and a tool to crimp it on. N 100 811 01 is most likely the part number of the clamping clip.

    Item no. 5 in the attached illustration - I think.

    if it's a spurious gearknob you'll prob have to fix it in using grub screws and no clip may be required.
