Yes, I used to watch it and used to think that the year 1999 seemed so exotic and so far away.

Remember Blake's Seven? - I could never get into it at all.

Best music ever. The only other thing I remember from when I was a kid was the spaceships and that the guns looked like nail brushes?

    edit: better quality clip

I'm just after watching a few episodes.
    Fantastic show!

They did well with what they had back then.

I remember Space 1999 well, although I only watched it occasionally. I always remember the uniforms with the different colour sleeves denoting rank or job and the Eagle spacecraft they had.

Wishbone, I loved Blakes 7, I was glued to it every week. The Liberator was a cool ship, even if the cheap special effects made it wobble a bit as it flew through space. :D

I thought they would do a load of re-runs of it in 1999, but it didn't happen.

I saw it on RTE1 on Friday afternoon 5-6 pm in or around 1979/80 and various repeats since. twas Gerry Andersons second series with humans, after UFO which set-up the moonbase premise. Blakes 7 ws far cheaper than Space 1999 (and it showed!) but the standard of writing snd characterisation was far superiour. I'd like to see that from the start again.

    Mike.

    I loved Space 1999.

I remember when it started first. I was really upset because it replaced The Six Million Dollar Man (who was my hero at the time).

But that was soon forgotten when I decided I wanted to live on a space station instead of being bionic :D

    Loved Blakes7 too.
