Missed outbound leg can't take return leg.

    Howdy,

I booked a return flight with Malev to Budapest.
I missed my outbound leg and had to make my own way out.
Now Malev are telling me that since I did not take the outbound
leg I cannot take the return leg - it's their policy.
So I have to make my own way back.
    Is this legal ?
Do all airlines do this ?
    I know budget airlines don't.

    Cheers,
    Ray.

Yes - this is infact pretty normal for non-budget airlines.

For example, Ryanair actually sell you two one way tickets - outbound and inbound, so if you miss one, you still have the second.

However, you booked a return ticket with Malev, so when you didn't show, the entire ticket is voided.
