I noticed that www.tescomobile.ie now has a "tesco mobile coming soon" logo on their holding page.

Anyone have an update on when they are set to launch? I know they were initially to launch at the beginning of the summer but this was delayed.

Also will they only have basic network services or will be have access to the o2 3G network also?

If they follow the UK model, they won't go offer 3G services.

Well the best I could say is before year end, and like Buffybot said im sure they will be going for the UK model in which they offer very basic phones etc, sorta along the lines of meteor in that sense.

This was reported on enn.ie, as published in 'The Sunday Times':
A row with mobile firm Three Ireland has held up Tesco Mobile's launch in the Irish market, the same newspaper reports. The new mobile service, which is hoping to hit the shelves before Christmas after missing a planned summer launch, is being delayed by issues between the two firms over number portability. However, the row is set to be resolved; Three Ireland sources have blamed a "technical hitch" for the problem.

I guess 3 wont be able to use the 'ireland's newest network' slogan anymore, As much as I like being a customer of 3 as it works out best for me in price etc, this is typical of them.
