    Hi,
Thanks in advance for any help. Ok i have a lenovo laptop running Vista home premium and a desktop (old dell optiplex) with XP prof on it. Connected to the desktop is a printer connected to the parallel port and a betgear 54mbps wireless adaptor. Then i have ntl broadband connected to a netgear wireless router. Which i use for both the laptop and the desktop to connect to the interweb. I have tried setting up a home network and cant seem to get it to work. So can anyone help me step by step to be able to use the printer connected to the desktop from my laptop and to have a shared folder between the two computers.

    Thanks.

Yh i did already look at that and tried it. Both computers are connected to the wirless router as i can use the internet on both of them. But if i try anything like file sharing ro printer sharing im not getting anywhere. It usually ends up in whatever computer im trying it on ends up diconnected from the router and i have to end up setting it up again. Im not sure maybe its a vista/xp compatibility issue, because ive followed microsofts steps precisly and also checked on a few websites before i posted here. But thanks anyway. i might just buy a printer router.
