I have an Acer 3022WLMi, with a memory card reader, which is supposed to take SD cards, but when I put a MicroSD in a Transflash/SanDisk adapter in the memory card slot, nothing happens. Any ideas?

I would say with 95% certainty it is the drivers. What capacity is the MicroSD card? If it is >1Gig, then your reader drivers probably can't cope with it and need to be updated.

This is what happened to me with a 2gig mini-SD card.

    It's a 2gig microSD. I tried the 3-in-1 card reader drivers from
    http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/ex_3000.html

Still doesn't work. Won't detect anything at all. Should not a virtual disk come up when there is something plugged in to the cardbus bridge? Or just when it can read the content?

It should appear when you insert the card.

I couldn't get my memory card reader to read my 2gig card, despite updating the drivers and despite the release notes for the drivers saying the updated driver was to read 2gig cards.

I gave up in the end and just used painfully slow USB to the phone.
