Mesa/Boogie spares

    Hey guys,

I picked up a Mesa Fifty/Fifty for a steal but unfortunatly during posting the fuse holder broke at the front and the fuse wont make a connection. I took what was left of the outside part and merged it with the inside part of the fuse holder and now it works fine but the beauty of the Mesa is that you can access the fuses/tubes etc without removing the poweramp from the rack but to change a fuse now I would have to open up the casing which sucks, so in summary is there anywhere I can buy a new fuse holder thing?

I guess the best people to ask would be Mesa/Boogie themselves? I know Musician Inc are dealers but I doubt they'd carry those kind of things.

Other than that you could have a look in a maplins catalogue to see if you can find a similar fuse holder to replace it. Worth a try and it might only cost you a couple of euro. :)

I checked mesa's website but theres no email address, only phone and snail mail which kinda sucks. However that Maplins idea is genius!

I presume you're talking about the fuse cap which screws in, around the back of the heads, but usually on the front of the rack gear?

Its a standard electrical piece, you'll find in Maplins. Try the grailtone boogie forum if you're not sure of the exact size or fitting type. There's definitely some on maplins.co.uk, and im sure an ebay search would show up loads too.

Cheers dude thats great, I'll check Maplins tomorrow. And to show my appreciation if you still need a Gibson truss rod tool I should be able to send one your way (Used to have an SG), just let me check its still in my guitar tool box.

That'd be feicin brill if you did man, cheers:D Was just about to order one off ebay, but the shipping was going to cost about 5 times the cost of the tool :( I'll swing a few pints your way if you have it.

Congrats on the 50/50 btw. That is one classic, toneful, reliable poweramp. Those things will take decades of touring and still sound amazing..

You're using it with a Studio pre, right? That's pretty much a IIc+ right there...holy grail of classic high-gain. Nice :D

Ah...that is one sweet setup alright, the leads you can dial in on those Studio pre's are just... ...you hit the nail on the head - tone heaven..and a bargain to boot eh?..nicely done :D

Gimme a shout if you're having trouble finding the right fuse-holder, I have an account on the boogie forum and should be able to get an answer for you if you're not sure the size you're looking for.

Mark@westsidedistribution.com He will have the exact part as they are the distributor for boogie in Ireland. Think they are based in scotland
