Any firefighters (retained or full-time) on the Boards.

19 y.o. school leaver in the Kildare area with a genuine interest in joining the fire service.

I'm looking for as much info as I can get on:
    • joining
    • job opportunites
    • requirements
    • training
    • fitness
    • duties
    • work load

The few sites I've found don't give much info, bar that you should live a reasonable distance from the local station, have decent eyesite and the usual health.

if you have a real interest in the fire service, jopin full time i would say, dublin possibly, but you will have to be a paramedic in the dublin fire brigade aswell, meaning you do rotations on the ambulances

First important this is to get a Full Driving license (Class B) if you want to work with Dublin Fire Brigade.

If you get turned down or maybe there's a long waiting time for your interview, do some volunteer work with the Order of Malta and pass some courses.

It's good craic, interesting and it'll stand to you for your application.
Plus you can go to the race meetings since you're in Kildare.

If your interested in getting experience beforehand at a voluntary level, Join the Auxilary Fire Service at your local Civil Defence, would look really good on a CV
