WPT Crapshoot!

How come the WPT is such a crapshoot? Always has been and probably always will be. Tonights final table was a joke. Heads up on the blinds were 250k/500k with a 50k ante. The two stacks were 6 million and 5 million. It was all in or fold. Terrible for the game this **** it.

I think good old CPT started out after watching a WPT tourney. No one seems to care either as they get 800+ players per event, even though they know the final couple of tables will be a hell for leather all in or fold job.

they adopted a new structure and tried it out at the Bellagio Cup. afaik it was successful and will be kept. stacks were always reasonably deep at the final table.

did anyone watch the wpt last night on challenge....? - it was a complete joke, alan goehring won tourney playing like a complete donkey.... it was just unbelievable

hand 1 - gets involved in a big all in pot with pocket 5's against jc trans pocket aces, he hits a 5 on the river

hand 2 - he calls a big all in with kj in the big blind - he was getting terrible odds and surely he is going to be dominated most of the time

hand 3 - final hand heads up - he calls about a 6 million raise with k8 off suit in the big blind - up against aj - he hits the king on the turn

On top of them 3 hands, he player aq horribly twice....... first one he limps in in early postion and then calls a raise...... he misses the flop completely but calls a big bet on the flop, turn comes a blank and he lays it down to the second barrell

Second time he was in the big blind with aq - he just flat calls the early postion raise - once again he completely misses the flop but he calls a big bet - turn comes a blank again and he folds to the second barrell again


The hands above are just an example of his terrible play...... he must be half decent to get to the final table, but it just goes to show that the wpt final table is just a crapshoot.....

Ive read an interview with roland de wolfe once and he said the wpt had a good structure, but when it came to the final table, they massively increased the blinds so there was plenty of all ins for the tv coverage.....

As is said before, the only decent tourney on tv is the ept but they need new commentators.
