Well i have both. I'm a bit of a sony fan so probably not the best person to ask. The online setup is a lot better on the xbox at the moment but i still prefer my ps3, maybe its just a faze im going through

I would like both , but theres no way Im buying an xbox till they fix that heat issue , 30% failure rate is brutal.
Good services and great games are useless with a broken console !

I'm not answering this question again, I answered it too many times on these forums. But it not your fault since your only new.

    I love the xbox.

Vastly cheaper, better games catalog etc

The xbox hardware has been changed recently. There is a new motherboard in all models (not 100% about the core) the CPU and GPU are now 65nm to reduce the heat output and there is also a new heat pipe for cooling. Also HDMI is standard now.

This model is out in the states, should hit us soon. Just saying this incase the hardware is putting you off!

Has it been proven that 65nm 360s are currently available at retail?

no it's actually been disproven as they are using the same zephyr mainboards as the elite which are not 65nm.

You've posted in a Playstation forum asking whether to buy a 360 or PS3. Which do you think you'll get the majority of people saying from a Playstation forum? If you post in the Xbox forum you'll get a majority saying 360.:D

Dont bother getting a PS3 or 360. Just buy a Wii. I dislocated both my arms, twice, and got sick all over the new sofa, and I only have it a week.

But seriously, it really is up to you to decide. Wii all the way. Now its more than my thumbs that get exercise when I play games.

Strange.... you just don't see endorsements like that on Nintendo's advertising material.

I'm guessing that you're friends aren't exactly queuing up to play the Wii with you. :D

I never understand why people in forums get so pissy about someone posting up a thread..so what if its been asked before jsut scroll past the link in the forum you don't need to click on it!Nobody is harming you!!

    Anyway imo:

    Reason to buy a playstation
More reliable...I haven't heard of anyone I know with a playstation saying theres has broke down.
Will have better graphics a year or two down the line..
More inovative games (Home,Little Big Planet,Haze)
    Gauranteed the Final Fantasy games
Playstation store (Some of the games that have came out are quality..I know its lacking no but rome wasn't built in a day)
Compatibility with PSP (If you have one!)
    Sixaxis
    Blu-ray compatibility

    Reason to buy a X-Box
    Cheaper
Greater catologue (albeit alot of them are less than 3rd gen quality games..but PS3 has had some shocking games too!!)
Has graphics on par with Playstation3 at the moment
X-Box Live (Which I believe PS3 will eclipse with Home..but anyway..its there and up and running so X-Box gets this one)
    Playing mp3s in game
    Halo

All I can think of just depends on what exactly you want...

So are you recommending a 360 with the good games now and equivalent graphics and cheaper price or the PS3 with the future potential (bearing in mind that by the time this potential is realised it'll probably be cheaper)?

That question was for THE1NE. WellyJ replied first :)

To be honest, if I could only get one, I would get the 360

But I have both and enjoy both.

Good reasons to own both, dont listen to fanboys.

But for value and current game catalogue I would go for a 360 right now.

In the future you will find yourself pining for a ps3 though.

    Depends on yourself..
You could get a X-Box now and get a PS3 later..
I just got a PS3 has all the non-exclusive games I want (so far NBA Street Homecourt and Oblivion) and I liked the exclusives on launch (Motorstorm and Resistance),plus gauranteed Final Fantasy games was one of the main selling point for me so went ahead and got it...

All depends on yourself though...I'd say look at which games you prefer on the system and go with whichever one has the games you want now..
The other stuff factors in aswell but for me games were the biggest thing and I've never had a problem with any playstation products so that obviously effected my decision aswell.
