Hands up who wants to play Super Metroid on their wii? This month is Metroid month, ending with MP3:Corruption being released over there. Super Metroid is out in 2 weeks in America.

Hopefully Nintendo don't hold back the European Super Metroid until the release of MP3 over here (October)

I own the game on the SNES already, beat it at least once a year since I first played it and yet I still will be getting this on the VC when it comes out. It's probably the most perfect game ever made and should be played by anyone with the slightest interest in videogames.

I'll be in America for the launch of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Damn Nintendo and their region locking. I could buy the game and look longingly at the artwork and manual until (nice delay again NOE) October.

How can anyone get excited by generic rubbish like Halo 3 when the vastly superior Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is coming out. I hope this game gives the series the recognition it deserves.

I dont get why you feel the need to bash games, also its a fact that 99.9% of people are idiots :D so that answers your question.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who was completely underwhelmed by the Halo franchise. Was beginning to think there was something wrong with me.

I remember getting a preview disc free with a pc mag years and years before it came out. When it was first billed as a 3rd person PC title. I'd never seen anything like the physics they were talking about. Couldn't wait for its release. (I think this was around 98/99? Must dig that mag out)

By the time it was actually released and I got to play through, it left me feeling completely indifferent. I don't think I've ever felt so "meh, was that it?" after playing through a game.

Yup Halo is by some distance the most overrated game series around. It is shameful that 3 will sell many more copies than the more unique and interesting games on the way.

While I wouldn't consider myself a big fan of the 3D Metroids, I thought Metroid Fusion was superb. I have been anxious to play Super Metroid for some time and Im glad it is getting a release. Of course, the whole not having a Wii yet is an issue, but I shall sort that out at some point ;)

I think it only really got so much attention because for Xbox owners it was literally the only game worth playing on the xbox for close to a year. It looked amazing on release and was fun until the flood appeared but the series just hasn't moved on at all and the story line just got unbelievably silly with the second game.

I'm really hoping retro can deliver with Metroid Prime 3. I think Echoes gets a lot of undeserved criticism. It wasn't as good as the first game and the dark world just wasn't as interesting but it was still a damn fine game that just didn't live up to it's prequel, which is itself one of the finest games ever made.

I'm ashamed to say I got stuck on some point in Metroid Prime 1 and never went back to it, great game though.

Metroid Prime was one of, if not the best gamecube game ever. Echoes was "Meh". I don't know, it just didn't feel the same as the first one. Don't get me started on the rubbish that was Hunters on the ds. It's the sidescrolling Metroids that are golden, anybody that hasn't played Super Metroid NEEDS to get this.

For me it's the second best game ever made just behind Panzer Dragoon Saga. If you never played Super Metroid then you have no excuse not to get it on the VC.

As much as I adore Super Metroid, it was pipped by Zero Mission for me...

I'll still be downloading it onto my Wii though! :D
