    Hi all,
Quick question: I live in Limerick and have Chorus Analogue. I have 3 TV's in the house. If I upgrade to Chorsu Digital, but only want one set-top box decoder for the living room, will I still be able to receive jut the analogue channels on the other two TV's??

Thanks Rudie - so could you still receive the full Analogue package in the other rooms - 18 channels or whatever it is?

I'm just afraid to upgrade to digital (for Sky Sports) in case I lose the channels throughout the rest of the house - the missus would kill me!!

Yup, you can upgrade your main point to digital, and leave the other two points as they are, for now. It should be free of charge to upgrade the main point to digital, but if you wanted to upgrade the other two points as well, there'd be an installation charge of €50 per point. (Steep, I know.)

AFAIK, once you're paying €27.99 or €32.99 for the digital select/digital max pack on your main point, then you pay €6.00 per additional analogue point. So those two extra analogue cable points will cost you €12.00 per month.

You could cough up the €100 euro to have all three outlets upgrade to digital, and then you'll paying €7.50 a month each for the two additional outlets. Slightly more expensive than the cost of an additional analogue point, but far better value for money in the long run because you'll have the full digital channel-line up on all three televisions.

I'm referring here only to the technical possibility, not whether or not it's allowed under UPC's Ts & Cs..

Once the CATV feed is coming into your house, it can effectively be split limitlessly. Using a good quality splitter and coax, you will have no problem distributing the feed to three rooms, for three TVs. Fed straight into the TVs' aerial socket, it is of course analogue only - as you say, the full 18 channels of whatever it is. Pay Chorus their fee for digital TV and you'll get one set top box. You choose which TV gets it. The other two remain as they are, analogue.

Thanks for your help guys, that's exactly what I needed to know.

Digital on main TV it is then, analogue on the rest.

    Cheers :-)
