Hey everybody I have a predicament with a girl... “but of course” you say.

I met her around Christmas hooked up with her by the end of the night, we say each other and texted each other for a while after that, had long chats on MSN and all. Then a few weeks after she stopped texting me. I didn’t know what the story was, texted her and she still didn’t reply. So I sent her an email explaining what I though off her and asking her what the craic is. She eventually replied and said that she still had feelings for her ex and that if we wanted to be friends it was cool.

At first I was against the idea of being friends, you know **** her, but in a drunken state I txt her as a "friend" this was February. It’s now august and we have been texting each other and having 3 hour long conversations on msn since. We fell out at one point coz she pretended to be her mate on Msn and I vented all my frustrations about her and my situation to him, unfortunately it turned out to be her (the bitch) but we eventually reconciled our differences, Since then we have been talking to texting each other and talking on Msn even more. She told me recently she found out her ex had been cheating on her and that she is finally over him. We kind of have a thing where we plan to meet each other for something normal people call a "date", but something always comes up to prevent this.

Anyway tonight I was out with mates and I she decides to meet up with me not knowing any of my mates. We had good enough craic together and I managed to convince her to go to the nite club with me (which she never does). But the ****ing door staff wouldn’t take my student ID! So I walked her home instead (a far walk, something I hadn’t done since I was seeing her first). Anyway get back to her place her mam was up and she made sandwiches and tea and me and her sit on the sofa watching tv chilling out for ages. However I was quite drunk and I think I made my intentions a little more obvious than I should for the situation. Nothing you really would notice but she picked up on it I think. So she asked was I going to meet my friend who lives nearby and I said I was and left. She walked me to the door (the last time this happened we kissed) but this time nothing and I went home quite annoyed.

So I ask have I been wasting my time or should I wait this out and see what happens?

Right here is my take on it.

She ignored you after a while...That means she is not interested.

You persist with contact and email her declaring certain feelings...She replied with some bull**** excuse (the feelings for the ex) and then informed you that you could be friends. Effectively that is a declaration that she is otherwise engaged and is ok with you have a non committal platonic relationship.

Honestly, pretend like it never happened and move on.

Sounds like she's wasting your time.
Her head games would become wearing after a while.

    Plenty others out there.

    Wasting your time bud.

    Yep wasting your time.

And for the record, you could have wasted less time if you'd spent more time being straight with her and less time wondering what she thought. Don't waste time on girls who aren't interested in you when there are lots out there who would love to be with you. You'll never find the right one if you're spending all your energy on the wrong one. :)

I agree with the other posters-its being long enough now, and she doesn't seem to know her own mind when it comes to you. Fair enough, but you've made your feelings known to her and she isn't reciprecating. Move on.

Yeah sounds to me like you're wasting your time too.

I think that she does just want to be friends, which is why nothing happened when you left, and why she kinda made it that you had to leave after you "made your intentions a little more obvious than you should for the situation"

Are there any women that you don't describe as a "bitch" that you could date instead?

I concur with the rest - From a female point of view, she's a waste of time.

Move on - She's probably just MSNs you when she's down or needs some male attention, in which case you could be anybody....

    Sorry dude

"However I was quite drunk and I think I made my intentions a little more obvious than I should for the situation."

Maybe she was embarassed at bringing a drunk guy home and having to sit with him in her mothers company?

Wow, such agreement is unheard of.

Anyway im sure theres more to the story but it does seem like she just wants to be friends. Its up to you whether you want to see otherwise but if you do be prepared to be suitably messed around or hurt if she doesnt feel the same way or goes off with someone else in the meantime.

keep at it man, she'll crack sooner or later!

ah no, only joking, absolute waste of time buddy. Been there, got the t shirt. The old cliche of "plenty more fish...." is about right. Go out, find yourself some bird in a nightclub, score and you'll be over her before ya get on the nightlink!

Never ever have I seen a personal issues thread in so much agreement.
