Wifi Modem on Suse on Dell

Hi, I bougth a dell Inspiron 1500 for my GF and as soon as she got it she had her friend split the hard drive. There is Windows Vista on one side and Linux Suse on the other. The problem is that the wirless modem does not work on Suse but will work fine on Windows. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks

need a _lot_ more information. Is the network card running ok? Is encryption turned on? etc. etc.

Also what type of Wifi NIC is it? Broadcom, Intel? Model Number etc etc
