I don't know how many shows I've been to over the years where you go along and see cars you can't put a name on or perhaps you're not sure of the year or whether or not its the one with the 2,000cc engine etc etc.....
its very rare these days to see anybody who took the 5 minutes it takes to write out a few details on their pride and joy and stick a sheet of paper in the window so that the general public can learn a bit more about what they are looking at and even other classic car owners can increase their knowledge on certain vehicles........I always have an information sheet on my machines and almost everyone who looks at them will take the time to read about the engine size, when it was made, what speed it will do, who owned it previously, the mpg etc etc......I was at this years Trim Show and I don't think I saw one other car with any information on them.
I call upon organisers of All Shows to hand out a pre-printed sheet to all classic cars exhibitors so they fill them out with some basic information which will help educate the public and offer some entertainment into the bargain.........see you in Moynalty:(

    Bravo 1300e,
I was hoping that there was somebody out there with a bit of common sense! Well done....hope to see you in Moynalty!
The following is what I put on my Roller for the trim show followed by a photo of the old girl!

I thought it went down well...what do you think?

    CADDYMAN:)

    ROLLS ROYCE SILVER SHADOW II

THIS MODEL WAS INTRODUCED IN 1977 AND WAS THE SUCCESSOR TO THE ORIGINAL ROLLS ROYCE SILVER SHADOW WHICH WAS FIRST PRODUCED IN 1969.

THIS CAR IS FITTED WITH A 6,750C.C. V8 ENGINE WHICH ACCORDING TO ROLLS ROYCE PRODUCES AN "ADEQUATE" AMOUNT OF ENGINE HORSEPOWER WHICH ACTUALLY TRANSLATES TO 220BHP

IT DOES AROUND 11 MPG ON AVERAGE AND AROUND 8 MPG ON A SHORT RUN.

THIS CAR IS A 1978 MODEL WITH A SPECIAL ORDER COLOUR OF ONYX GREEN WITH A HIGHLAND GREEN ROOF, IT COMES AS STANDARD WITH AUTOMATIC INDEPENDENT SELF LEVELLING SUSPENSION WHICH IS PATENTED BY CITROEN, ALL LEATHER INTERIOR WITH MATCHING LAMBS WOOL CARPETS, WASH WIPE FRONT HEADLIGHT SYSTEM, TWIN BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM AS FOUND IN ROLLS ROYCE AIRCRAFT ENGINES AND REAR HEATED SCREEN.

IT IS ALSO FITTED WITH CLIMATE CONTROL A/C, 8 WAY ELECTRIC FRONT SEATS AND MANY OTHER INNOVATIVE EXTRAS FOR THE LATE 1970'S.
THIS CAR WAS FIRST OWNED BY DOUGLAS AND ELIZBETH ALEXANDER WHO OWNED THE CAR FOR 15 YEARS AND WHO THEN GAVE IT TO THEIR SON IN LAW WHO HAD IT FOR A FURTHER 13 YEARS WHEN I BOUGHT IT LAST YEAR.
THE ALEXANDERS HAD THEIR INITIALS PUT ON THE TOP CENTRE OF THE FRONT DOORS AND YOU CAN STILL SEE THEM TODAY UNDER A FEW COATS OF PAINT!

THE CAR HAD ITS FIRST 12,000 MILE SERVICE IN 1991 13 YEARS AFTER IT LEFT THE FACTORY IN CREWE AND HAS STILL ONLY COVERED 59,000 MILES FROM NEW WITH FULL SERVICE HISTORY.
