Bass repair in Dublin

Strap on my bass loosened, resulting in my bass landing flat on the floor.
Started playing again and there was a constant buzz coming out of the amp.
The jack of the lead was a little bent when I took it out, so thought I just damaged that, but tried another lead and same problem.

Looks like the input jack is damaged, I took it out and had a look, the black cable has detached from the jack including the metal piece it's soldered too.

Think I'll need to bring it in for repair at this stage, any advice on best place to bring it?

    Cheers

should be pretty easy to fix yourself, open up the back to see if its the little piece of steel that should contact the lead. sounds like its just out of place, if it is, just carefully bend it back into place, or if you don't want to do it yourself bring it in to musician if you are in Dublin. probably cost about 40 euro.

yeah tried a few times putting it back into place, and even when it seemed fixed in place, the static noise remained. Might bring it in to musician tomorrow then cheers.

It sounds like if you knew anyone with a soldering iron you could get it done for free.:o

nope all the soldering is fine. Could even be a problem inside the guitar. Just not sure enough to risk messing it up even more
