    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_fiction

Flash fiction is fiction characterized by its extreme brevity, as measured by its length in words. Other names for flash fiction include sudden fiction, microfiction, micro-story, postcard fiction, and short short story. Flash fiction differs from a vignette in that the flash-fiction work contains the classic story elements: protagonist, conflict, obstacles or complications, and resolution. However, unlike the case with a traditional short story, the limited word length often forces some of these elements to remain unwritten, that is, hinted at or implied in the written storyline. This principle, taken to the extreme, is illustrated by Ernest Hemingway's six-word flash, "For sale: baby shoes, never worn."

So as we are in the creative writing thread who fancies having a go at this ?

Say with a max of up to 500 words, and working from suggestions posted to you by others here. The suggestion may be a story title you have to use or a story with 1 adjective, 1 verb & 1 noun as suggested here.

Then we can comment on your efforts !

Anyone want to start with these ?

Title: "Three cases for a Crucifixion "
    or
    3 Words: Adjective:radiant, verb:crave, noun:flood

If anyone posts up a title or three words, I'll give it a go too.

Yep, but they're using 25 words or less, which IMHO is a bit pointless.

They're saying " The most basic rule is that they're just a sentence or two, totalling 25 words or less. Less hard-and-fast - but equally vital - are a theme, plot, characters, and narrative development. Everything you'd see in any good story - but short enough to fit into the time it takes to reach the bottom of that bitter little cup, as you ponder on how even the briefest experiences can make life more meaningful.

It's inspired by Augusto Monterroso's famous story, 'The Dinosaur'. "

Which to quote is "When he woke up, the dinosaur was still there."

I'd call that a premise !! OK, its interesting - how come he is existing in the same world as a dinosaur, but thats all it says, hardly a narrative.
