Are there any DEPENDABLE developers out there willing to travel to the SE if they're not from the area and work as sub-contractor with a view to permanent job?

Looking for c# skills and at least 4yrs exp.

    PM me please..

You're going to find it very difficult and expensive to get experienced, professional C# developers to move to the SE for a temporary contract ("with a view to permanent job" is just conversation).

You may want to consider an offer of a perm job straight away (with probationary period), a teleworking contract or concentrating on local candidates.

Let me rephrase that. I'm looking fo rpeople in or near the SE. I don't expect anyone to up sticks and move but if there are people WILLING to travel down for a few days a week that's good too.

I've had too many bad expeiences to offer anything else than contract work for them moment. The work is there. The conversation about a permanent position will be had when I feel confident enough in what I see.

Well if someone is living outside one of the cities and within striking distance and needs a contract, you may get lucky. Certainly I do know that some contractors make a conscious choice to not live in the main cities, but find it a lot harder to find work and thus will often be far less picky.

I'd recommend against that approach. To begin with that is what probationary periods are for.

Secondly you will have to pay a contractor considerably more than a full-time employee (unless he/she is an idiot) and so you may find yourself in a situation whereby you're confident enough, but they've become used to the higher income.
