Thanks to Ken Rockwell for details of this site:

    http://www.onexposure.net/index.php

All submissions are screened so only the best stuff gets published.

Something to aim for I think. Sure as hell beats the other sites (Photosig, ePhotozine, etc) where EVERYTHING is published and you have to trawl through tons of crap to get the nuggets.

    Regards,

    John

Said I'd put up two photos there about 2 hours ago for the laugh, see if they get through. One fashion shot has gotten through the first screening, one gig shot hasn't...

Not bad. Will see how it gets on and put up some more.

    Uploaded a street shot now.

I dunno, something about this kind of bothers me. I wrote a bit about it in my blog which I won't repeat here - but isn't it a bit 'pop-idol'? Looking at the top rated stuff, there seems to be an abundance of a certain kind of style, do you think the reviewers are maybe biased towards that? You know, like the stuff that always wins camera club competitions?

Not up to that level yet either.I got all 3 photos shot down on the first screening :o It's something to work up to though.

There will always be competition no matter what the hobby. It just happens photography is a bit harder to judge due to so many different styles and the judges preferences.Every competition is decided by what kind of style the judges like,as it is with this site. The only way around this is to get many peoples views but that would be too much effort for most competitions or sites like these. All it is in the end is just a little bit of fun.

Put 3 up that got through the first screening and then went to undecided so hit the members vote. One has been published and 2 rejected, have put 2 more up..First thoughts are very positive, its a nice site with some great images and some good feedback...will definitely give it a tryout

Three submitted, 2 accepted, one has to be resubmitted to a more suitable genre... :)

3 submitted.. 2 rejected (composition).. 1 still in screening :(

Just make sure you're really sure about the shots you upload - because you aren't allowed to take them down again of your own accord. You have to have a good reason for the deletion, and have it done by the crew of screeners... even if you delete your account, it all stays up there... check the small print.

That's not quite right. If you decide to end your membership all your photos will be deleted. Single photos will not be deleted without any reason though.

Looks like it's been changed recently then.

    Big brother is watching, eh...?

Tried two landscapes , both shot down , heres the reason for both,
It's a good photo, but it doesn't stand out that much. A photo might be technically perfect, but it also has to affect the viewer.

So , boring is what they are trying to tell me in a nice way I suppose !

1/5 accepted, but it's somehow wound up as a pick. Go figure.
