New MMA show in Derry City looking for fighters

Hi Guys,

I am looking for some fighters who are interested in fighting in a show in Derry on December 1st and are willing to fight pro or semi pro.

Fights will be held in a ring.

The pro fights will be fought roughly the same rules as the UFC. The semi rules will be the same with no strikes to the head on the ground.

We are in the middle of finalising the exact list of rules.

Weights will be as follows
Lightweight - over 145 lbs. to 155 lbs.
Welterweight - over 155 lbs. to 170 lbs.
Middleweight - over 170 lbs. to 185 lbs.
Light Heavyweight - over 185 lbs. to 205 lbs.
Heavyweight - over 205 lbs. to 265 lbs.

Hi Jason,
can you give us a bit more background on the event,i.e what mma classes you are affiliated to,referees etc.
Sorry to sound nosey but the only other posts you have made are on kickboxing and yet you are now going to run a mma event.

My Background is mainly judo (black belt), jiu-jitsu (bjj blue belt) and some kickboxing. I haven't been competeing this past few years due to work commitments.

Mark drop me a mail wouldn't mind getting some of ur guys on the bill.

Sorry to ask the questions Jason but as I said I see you advertise for one thing and then run an mma show I was just trying to be sure as I have had contact from a guy up your neck of the woods before who I think was just trying to cash in on the sport.
I might have a few guys free for the show and I am available to ref if needed.

No problem. Yeah I appreciate the caution. Any other instructors out there with guys willing to fight drop me a line.

Peter, I would like a few local guys to fight but if they do they won't have much MMA experience but will have experience in other martial arts.

Should help to bring some more people from the local area and draw them into the sport.

But at the end of the day we want guys who have been in the ring before and proven themselves.

Not really. Just interested in where you might be holding the event, As i would be interested seeing it. Guildhall? Millennium Forum? I might know some people who are willing to fight. I will ask around if you can give me more info.

The event is being held in the everglades. If you know some people who would fight get them to contact me ASAP.

Tickets are £20
or £30 for ringside
