    Hi Folks,

I have a HDD which had many FAT-32 partitions on it but thanks to the joys of using Acronis it seems that the partition information is completely screwed up because all I can see is multiple copies of one partition. Does anyone have any idea how I would go about recovering files or is it even possible seeing as they are FAT-32 partitions?

Ive tried booting it with a live CD and it mounts one partition about 14 times but they are all listed as seperate partitions.

    PDD

    partition recovery

    backup the existing partition table
    backup the existing partition table
    backup the existing partition table

gpart you probably already have ( man gpart for info on backing up partition table)

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk - this lets you browse the candidate partitions so you can see if the files match

Failing that....dd_rescue to the rescue tbh (the underscore is important).
