Bands wanted for gigs in city centre

Hi All,

We're looking for bands to play in various venues around Dublin. We have some bands already and spaces are filling fast but we have a few more slots available! Gigs cost absolutely nothing to play and wouldn't do ya any harm! We're nice people Email info@soundgatemusic.com for more if you're interested. We've gigged with them a few times, they are great guys. They have a variety of types of bands at their shows.

Surely they can up front about the details, ie. do people have to sell tickets, how much it normally costs at the door, venues, slots etc etc.

Just so it's not another scumbag promoter wanting bands to bring along all their friends, play for free and line the pockets of said promoters. Not saying these lads are like that, but there are an awful lot of such scum out there.

I mean "gigs cost nothing to play" ... I should hope so, we're the ones providing the entertainment.

Hi,

It isnt' always possible to front all the details before a gig, however we do provide as much information as is known to us. We've been organizing for over 3 years now with a a proven track record when it comes to running gigs, we are here for the long term.

We also send some information to the bands directly before a gig rather than post a lot of information about how we run the gigs online as we feel that this information would be used by others to gather information in the wrong way. I am happy to answer your question though and say that there is no ticket requirement for any of the gigs. The venues we have at the moment are Eamonn Dorans and The Sugar Club and we have even taken things one step further and are returning to London next month for our 2nd soundgate gig there after the sucess of the last gig there.

The gigs cost nothing as in backline and venue hire are covered by us. The bands do not have to hand over any money of any sort. They do get a percentage of the door from every person there on the night to see them play, and every person is asked coming through the door who they are there to see.

In response to types of acts, solo artists, cover bands and oringal bands are all welcome and we have had lots of covers bands on the gigs!
