damaged during transit?

    hi, just got a powerbook from ebay. was posted by the seller yesterday and i received it today via dhl.

    the concierge at my place signed for it.

    when i got it in the evening, the outside package was fine. opening it, it was well wrapped with air filled plastic balloons.

    laptop was in a manila envelope but i noticed a small tear in the envelope afterwards.

    when i opened this one and booted the laptop up, screen was broken.

    the ebay listing showed a working laptop.

    i contacted the seller to see what to do, but he's hard to reach.

    am i entitled to talking to dhl about this?

    if yes, any one has any experience what happens in these cases?

    If it was damaged in transit then it will be the seller's responsibility to claim through the courier (DHL).

    Your best bet here is to try and contact the seller to see if they are willing to help you. Failing that, and assuming you have paid for the item via PayPal, you can file a dispute through PayPal for an item Significantly Not as Described.

    You can also file a claim within 60 days through eBay however you only have 45 days to file a dispute with PayPal.
