Has anyone noticed that iMovie now supports Mpeg2? I ask as i have a Hard Disk Camcorder which up to now was not supported in iMovie...i have to convert the files to .Mov or something to get them into iMovie.

Does anyone know what this Mpeg2 support will mean? Will it allow for HDD camcorders to be used instead of DV cameras?

yeah it supports AVCHD, which is used by Panasonic & Sony on their DVD/Hard Drive & Memory Card camcorders. so you can directly import the AVCHD footage and edit away.
