    hi guys,

    thinking of this
as my first AEG of choice. Can anyone confirm if it has wooden pieces or wood effect plastic?

Also, would you recommend I also buy high cap magazines?

    Thanks in advance.

Might wanna consider getting a better one, or at least a delta peak charger, which is "Idiot proofed".

yeah im told the same, so im probably gonna get a couple of new batts and charger for mine.

incidentally, small point - the ak-47 DOES come with a version which doesnt have timber furniture on it, so it is actually authentic.

The CYMA AK47 does have synthetic furniture although the stain effect is quite good, better then TM's furniture. Most of the AEG is metal except for the lower receiver (main body) and rear sight block. It's a good performer and more then a match for a lot of the AEG's on the market. Power's a bit low at 275 fps but no lower then most TM's. I think the early production models had bad hop units but they must have improved them as the hop was fine on the one a mate of mine got, I used it myself and there was no problems.

If you really want real wood you could pick up a Chinese AK47 wood kit for about $40, you could also get the Element metal receiver and you'd have an almost full wood and metal AEG for a very cheap price.

I bought the folding stock CYMA Ak47

sweet as a nut dude. Nice feel to it, its plastic wood finish but does not take away from it. Not had a problem with it at all yet. *fingers crossed*

Anyone know what this is like compared to the ARMY one?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,314 ✭✭✭Fiach Dubh

The ARMY AK fires with a higher fps, over 300. Build quality is about the same but the ARMY AK only comes in the fixed stock version.

Thanks. I'd prefer to get the fixed stock version anyway.

I get the idea fold stock is flimsy?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,314 ✭✭✭Fiach Dubh

Nope, the folder is strong metal. The only problem is some people fold it without pressing down the lock release and end up breaking the locking mechanisim. If you operate it correctly there's no problem.

be wary(better late than never:x), a friend orderd one, plastic finish rather than wood, i didnt like to hold it, it didt feel nice at all and bits rattled and the meta that was on it was really thin and flimsy, basicly he could have spent €20-30 moar and gotten a nice one, but didnt have the money to spend. he seems happy with it but i wouldnt have been.

It's ordered, I've read reviews I've heard its very impressive for plastic as its well camogflauged with wood grain effect.
    +1 For RSOV.com ;)

yeah, cyma may not be as good (finish and performance) as marui, vfc, and others, but its a real good compromise:)

not a bad gun, i prefer the all black ak74's mind but them ones are good too. as for the 275fps, thats nothing a 90ms spring wouldnt cure and at 20quid its nothing thats gona break the bank.

Yeah but it might break the gun.

Please explain Spitfire Iam a n00b lol.
    Is 275 bad?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

The higher the fps the more accurate and better range.

I would reccomend not touching your gun unless you are sure you know what what your doing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Spitfire666

i wouldnt say 275 is bad bt at the same time, the closer to 330 you are the better. i dont think a 90ms spring would break the gun but at the same time i havnt tried one yet so i cant say for sure.

The spring is basically a replacement for the spring that is in the gun already. it stores more energy then the standrd one therefore increases the power..

Its a very straight forward swap if you are at all handy with taking things apart. diagrams and step by steps are all over the place online.

Hmm Ill try it out first :p

I hope to get into mechanics some day :) And of course skirmishes

I don't even know what winding is :p

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Spitfire666

when you aim at something, pull the trigger and still dont seem to be hitting anyone, you'll learn what winding is.

I thought that was just being a crap shot ?

i ment to clarify that more by saying you cant hit a 40ft shed from 2ft.

    275 fps isnt that bad
ive shot with cyma's quite a few times already, and the range is really neat, maybe 2-3 meters less than my 300 fps full upgraded hk416 :|
if you want to get some more precision, just change the inner barrel into a tighter one (6,04 or 6,03) while making sure u use good quality bb's
changing the inner barrel is really easy compared to changing the spring ^^
