Yeah I was walking through there the other day when I saw them. Pretty ridiculous all right. Package something up with a book and some shiny cool mythologising and you can charge whatever you like for it :-) I gotta say though, the company responsible for all this must be raking in the cash (lomographic or whatever they're called). Also check out polanoid and unsaleable.com, run by the same parent company. They've effectively taken a culty subculture (old polaroids ... plastic cameras ... ) and turned it into a cash-cow with some extraordinarily clever marketing.

ridiculous alright !!! Not only are the raping people, but giving those cameras a bad rep. I have two of the cameras in their collection [payed 50 for both new] and ive been a fan of lomo for several years and now il just get painted as a urban shopper.
lomography website charge a dozen themselves aswell

I bought a fair few of their cameras a few years back - 50 each aswell... I'd be spending at least 70 each now. The LCA being over 400 quid is idiotic.

What's the point in a cheap, charasmatic camera if it's as much as a cheap DSLR?

Even more expensively ! A Holga will set you back a whopping 87 euros in there. I was in there and went Ooo and wandered over, thinking to get myself one. When I saw the price I let out an audible gasp of amazement. I had to leave the shop to explain to my girlfriend what was so deeply WRONG about it ...
