Quittin my Job

So, I`ve got a job in a pizza place, which I hate. The staff & drivers are nice, works easy, I just hate it cuz it`s boring, and , It`s not a job I wanna do at all. It`s just for experience and some cash. Anyways, I want to leave now. My brothers been tryin to get me a job in the bank where he works, just doin stuff like sortin their mail and other stuff, non-bankish. He was told that I couldnt be taken on as I have now Leaving Cetificate, but in 1 week, I will, and he told me they are really understaffed at the moment, so i wanna leave the pizza job and try get in the bank, if not, just take the remainin 2 weeks of august easy before I go to College.

I just wanna check, if I say today "Id like to finish up by next week (Thurs) as im getting my leaving cert results on wednesday, and have been tryin to get a job in X place, and needed my LC, and now its pretty much all go"

Im only in today and sunday, so i`d have only Mon or Tues to work again, cuz i get payed on Thurs, so, would I be Ok to do this and leave?

Im 17, and never had an interview for the job, just, got it. part time hours, sometimes only work 1 day a week, and ive wanted to save for college, but, havent been able to cuz ive had to spend for my band:mad: so, i just want out and hopefully straight into the other job. should i have any problems? like, theyll say, we need more notice, cuz, its not a formal job at all, and i know someone left a cv in for them who needs a job, quickly, so he can replace me.

You are only part time. To be honest its only an after school job, notice is not going to be too important. Just tell them you are leaving and tell them when you want to finish. No big deal.

Just do not burn any bridges. You never know who knows who in this country and it can always come back to haunt you. That said just tell them and be nice about it.

Oh and do not assume you are walking into the bank job.

ah, thanks for that ^ . i put this same kinda thing on another site, dunno why, but they were treatin it like i had a career there! "2weeks notice" also, someone else said to stick it out for the money...... for 1 day a week?? :Dhaha

If you've been working there less than 13 weeks and assuming you have no contract (it's a pizza place), then you're not required to give any notice. You could, if you wanted to, ring them right now and say, "I'm not coming in again, seeya".

Always good to give them some notice though. Leave on good terms.

Sunday should be cool, but as someone said, don't burn your bridges, cos if it's an easy job that you may take up again, in a few months whilst in college.
