Wiring a Phone Socket

I want to install and wire up a phone socket on my wall. The wires that are coming down the wall are white and black. The socket I bought today has 4 screw connectors on it with wires coming from each - Green, Red Black and Yellow.

Which of these connectors are the ones needed for the phone line? Normally I would use trial and error, but I want to do it right.

    Regards,

    D

Red and Green should do the trick, shouldn't matter which one you connect to which.

    No probs.

BTW it's the red and green because they are the two middle connections.

The trial and error method has been chucked aside. Now I know how to do it.

    Thanks again.

    Take care.
