I was going to suggest the Mythology forum but I see you've already tried that...gotta be honest with you, I've never heard of Cornu or Cornum as a character or deity, and significantly, neither has Wikipedia.

After a bit of digging around, I reckon the suggestion in the Mythology forum about the answer being Cernunnos is probably right. I'll leave this up though, in case anyone knows of any comics that might have used the character...

my first thought was the C could be an S and it might be Sauron as he assumes the title Lord of the Earth towards the end of the second age but thats prob just the Lord of the rings fan in me being to geeky

I have a vague memory of a character with a similar name in the 2000AD Slaine stuff, but then again that could just be my alcohol soaked brain making stuff up.

do u remember what type of book you saw the name in? If it was something like a D&D manual then it might be mis-spelled - alot of the role playing games use different myths to base their characters on but alter the spelling.

Being a lord of the rings fan myself i know it's not sauran. The character carries a large scythe, he has antlers and looks something like the predator in the film "Predator". It's actually from a tattoo

Have a look at the "Plot" section of the Wikipedia page for Sláine - during the Horned God storyline, Sláine becomes an incarnation of the Horned God Carnun (based on Cernunnos). I've attached a screengrab of a Sláine fan-film to give you an idea.

its a bit small but it looks like Slough Feg the previous incarnation of Carnun lord of the forest before Slaine took that mantle.
