I'm running a pvr-150 card for about 5 days now ,it's starting to loose sound.
The sound dissapears when watching tv and I need to close it and reopen to get it back.

    Should I do something ?

Are you running the latest version of the Hauppauge's WinTV as well as the latest drivers?

Is the hard drive caching the TV stream?

Did you try turning it off to see if it makes a difference?

Do you have much RAM and a decent processor?

Using a USB 2.0 port? PCI card not getting too hot?

which driver version are you on?
theres lots of beta drivers floating around
have a look around here; http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/index.php

is the sound going on all channels or just some?
is the tv in via antenna or scart from sky/ntl box?
when the sound drops, press record.
restart media centre, play the recorded tv and see if the sound is still missing
this will narrow ot down to tv-tuner or soundcard / codec issue
which codec are you using for mpeg2? purevideoi?

The drivers are the ones on the cd that came with it .
    CD-PVRPCI-150250350-V2.7A

I'll scour through that hauppauge Uk site ,thanks.

Try Windows Update [Expert option on the website] also. Should be under Optional if there's anything available for it.

dont download drivers through windows update...
none of the hauppauge drivers are even signed.

Problem seems to have gone away ,since I stopped shutting windows down at media centre with the remote.

    That's encouraging, especially if you've a 64-bit install :D

well if its vista thats running on the system there are certified drivers available.
i wouldnt know about the x64 edition.

if its xpmce then there are a load of drivers available that solve various problems or produce better images or sound
