just watched this, i downloaded it about a month ago, never bothered watching it until i realised that its only out in the cinema

read a lot of bad reviews so wasn't expecting much...

this film is not a comedy, its a sequal to a good comedy movie, but it is in no way funny (you won't laugh once), if i want to see a comedy i can put on my "team america world police" dvd, IMO every film is pretty unfunny compared to it anyway

    anyway back to Evan...

it is very very similar to watching click, except instead of the remote we're watching Evan trying to cover up that god is slowly turning him into Noah, and then on to Evan trying to convince them of what he thinks is going to happen, looking like a mad man in front of everyone, then its all capped off with a silly CGI ending.

No great acting performances, CGI boat \ water is a muck, no character building other then for Evan.

it is a "watchable" reminder of an old bible story

my fav bit has to be when the guards start shouting ... "quick everybody, get on the ark", fallowed by Evan (by now the image of gandalf) looking down thinking outloud "we're gonna need a bigger boat"

I watched this too online, and think its just not plausible. To build and ark, on Gods instructions, which in the end merely saves some people from a dam bursting, seems silly. Why was it necessary to have Giraffe, elephants and all the other exotic animals from the tropics, and not even native to the valley, on an ark where a dam was bursting in one small valley in America seems uncertain and unconvincing.

your right, maybe Evan was a madman, but then again maybe Noah was too :D

I payed to see this muck last weekend. I did not laugh once through the whole movie and I wonder what the director, producer, cast etc. actually thought of this when they saw the finished version for the 1st time.
I have developed a hatred for Wanda Sykes. Everything she did in the film annoyed the hell out of me. Then there are the three sons, hated them too. I give this 1/10 and that is for Evans attractive wife. Avoid this movie at all costs.

I didn't think it was so bad. It's a nice but clichéd play on Genesis.

    Yep.. Lauren Graham... yum!

    I'd give her 1 too! ;)

PS - excellent comedy actress... especially with 7 seasons of being a show-stealer in 'Gilmore Girls'. She looks wasted in this though!

yeah like i said, this is not a comedy, it is not funny in any way, if you go in to the cinema for a laugh you will be very disappointed. It might have been meant to be a sequal for bruce almighty, but they strayed from that story to make a modern family remake of noahs ark.

Watched it in work last Wednesday and thought it was pretty terrible. There was no real story, no memorable characters, no laughs, infact there was nothing there at all. It felt like really bad SNL skit dragged out over 90 minutes.

im agreeing with all off you,I seen it and it is a big let down compared to bruce almighty.

Shockingly, this is the most expensive 'comedy' ever made, and up there in terms of budget with any other movie. Something like 250million.... or so i have been told.

It was about $200million which includes $25million for marketing.

Talk about a waste of money.

I haven't seen it but thought the 'Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep' gag in the car was pretty funny.

Because you think he is going to say '****' like.

I've seen the trailer but it comes off as a crappy sequel to Bruce.
Why Freeman would lend himself to this kind of nonsense is beyond me.

i hated every second of it...how can something this unfunny be released as a "comedy"? and did the producer, director, or any of the actors not realise how ****e it was from reading the script???

also, how the hell was it so expensive???

It was scarily bad, I was traumatised watching it, I wanted to walk out so many times but couldn't (due to a backfiring trait of getting my money's worth) so I fell asleep for the last half hour instead. Positively awful

The worst film since Sylvester Stallone's 'Stop or my mom will shoot' lol.

Agree with everything above. A terrible, terrible film. Someone asked why Morgan Freeman attached to such drivel, I'm more concerned why Steve Carrell agreed to this. He's been in a few films in which he delivers great performances and has a great TV series. They must have paid him a HUGE amount to get him to do this.

There were no redeeming qualities to this film at all. I might have sniggered several times during it, but surely not enough to justify calling it a comedy.

At times it seems more like a film packaged for the religious right in America. A nice story about a nice family going through a testing time that brings them closer together all the while re-enacting a biblical scene. How much more sickening can it get?? And the scene where the wife was talking with the main guy about how the kids were praying together was so shmaltzy.

    Avoid at all costs.
