    Hi All,

Anybody seen this before. Xp will not boot and is giving me the message "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt,\windows\system32\config\system" It thens says "You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup CD-Rom"
Problem is PC came from Dell with software pre installed. Do I need to get a copy of XP or is there any other way around it?
    Thanks

All recent dells come with a feature to create system disks.
Try going to dell.ie then support, enter your system tag which you will find somewhere on the computer case, this should bring you to the support site for your particular model the advice given there is specific to your model,
alternatively phone 1850 543 543, have your system tag available, they are usually very good with advice and they may be able to send you a set of system disks if nesessary.
