Im in love with this house

    www.daft.ie/1275789

im currently saving my ass off to buy a house while the market cools im also renting at the moment...

this house is something id be very comfortable in but im not mad about the location.

If i bought a plot of land somewhere closer to the city and made contact somehow with the architects of this home what would i expect to pay for the plans alone and then building of it and roughly what time frame would i be looking at ?

    thanks in advance

Depending on the architect- it can cost over 500 just to make a copy of the plans, and thats before the owner of the plans decides what their markup is worth (which could be literally anything under the sun).

Vis- buying a plot closer to Dublin and building this property- I would almost be shocked if you were given planning permission. Your best bet may be to holdoff and put an offer on this property at some future point in time. The current asking price is totally unjustifiable, given the property and its location- if it halved in asking price it may perhaps be worthwhile giving it a lookin. 1.3 million for something of this size, this far out, well, they the sellers are being more than a tad overly optimistic.

What is the floor area out of interest- do you know?

Its with an estate agent in Swords- nothing ventured, nothing gained- why not give them a call and ask the estate agent whether the owner would be willing to show you the plans/sell you a copy of the plans?

If its the row of houses I think it is I think I know who the architect is. I think he possible lives in one of the houes.

Well looks like this house is back for sale and now at half the price. Did you ever succeed in getting the plans for it?

Or you could just download the planning drawings from the council's website.

It doesn't cost 500 to make a copy of plans.
The designer is entitled to charge "mark up" for the work they've previously done.

That wouldn't be a good idea.

Also a bad idea from a legal stand point.

Certainly, I'm sure the OP has either sorted themselves out, or moved onto other pastures at this stage. I'm going to close this.

Edit: Sorry mods, thought this was Accommodation and Property. Kind regards, Shane
