any good? saw for €199 its a digital SLR right? just cos its in the section with the rest of the DSLRs and any other ones ive seen are at least €400/€500

If your going that route I would recommend a 2nd hand film one as they are cheaper and better built imo.

Yeah, the Canon EOS 400D is probably the cheapest DSLR from Canon on the market (unless you find a 350D on sale somewhere). Both would start around the €400 mark and up, depending on what extra lenses, batteries etc you get.

The 3000v is about 220 or 250 - I can't remember.

Nikon do a d40 for quite cheap if you get it online
