SIM in SE Asia?

    Just wondering if anyone has used their mobile in any of the SE Asia countries? I am on Meteor Pay as you go. I will be in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore and it would be nice to be able to receive texts and post a message to my blog when on the road every now and then (I presume GSM coverage is only in the major cities) . Anyone any ideas on where to get a sim in Bangkok. Any info etc is appreciated!

    SEA is full to the brim of cheap internet cafes (i.e. 50c an hour, and they're everywhere!). Most of them have Skype access, and therefore calls home will only cost 1c per minute. I use Meteor Pay as you go and I didn't dream of taking it with me because a) its another thing to carry + charger too, b) its another thing to get lost/stolen!

    Thanks a lot. I might bring an old crappy phone and see about getting a sim as there are 5 of us traveling so it might be handy for us to keep in touch in cities. Just had a quick look on google and found that the company 'True' (Orange) will give you a sim with very cheap rates.
