Not a fan of the min raise pf. But postflop is standard, except for the suckout...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,854 ✭✭✭zuutroy

Seems OK. Larger bets to ward off the flush draw would probably be called for.
    It was a 4BB raise Demeant0r?

OK, I edited the post for you, although my connection is so bad today it'll probably be done by the time this is posted.

Firstly don't min-raise pre-flop. Make it $1.50 - $2 to go, we don't know the different stack sizes, which is important, however on that flop again you need to bet more, if as here, the pot is ~$2.10, you should bet nearer to the pot, something like $1,50 - $2, the $0.30, is really bad, it prices everything in and reduces the amount you can win in the hand.

To summarise you need to bet more with your big hands, what happened on the River, is basically irrelevant here, as there are huge errors made pre-flop and on the flop that you should be trying to address first.

just rewrite the hand history in normal english

so someone in early position raised, you reraised just more than the minimum. You got a few callers.

The flop came up 8 hi, checked to you and you bet tiny, you got raised by the original preflop raiser, you called.

The turn completes a 4 card straight and you called a big bet

The river gave you top set and you called a medium all in bet

    i raised .40 c and .30 c respectively

    remember these are micro levels

Played the 2/5 game in the Jackpot last week when this happened. Stacks dont apply

I have 67 clubs in the SB

UTG+1 makes it 15 and its called by the button and the blinds

    Flop: Qc 7s 5c

I bet 20 and am called by UTG+1

    Turn: 10h

    I check, UTG+1 checks

    River: 7h

    I bet 35 (yuck) and UTG+1 calls

I turn over my hand and claim the pot, villian turns over AA

Buck you played your kings worse than this guy played his aces. If you are going to reraise preflop then dont minraise, raise to at least three times the villians raise. I would also raise on the flop but fold the turn and probably the river

Min-raise is usually 2x the last bet. It isn't a raise the size of the bb.

    moonboot75: raises $0.30 to $0.40c2lancas

The min raise is whatever the last guy raised. He raised .30c so you can't just make it .40c.

The min opening raise is .10, after that you must match the previous raise if re-raising.

It's not being explained here in detail but min-raising is a really bad move.

1: It lets people in really cheaply(see your hand, you charged him nothing to draw to an 8 for practically your whole stack and only got lucky on the river)

2: It's really really obvious you have a big big hand when you min raise. It screams "I WANT MONEY IN THIS POT BUT I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO FOLD YET". If you think about it.

Say I have 6 8 offsuit and you have AA. How much should you charge me to see a flop?

Are there any flops that I'll put in loads more money on that you have me beaten?

i guess 4 times the BB?

I don't like your min re-raise preflop, it does nothing other than give everyone else favourable odds to call with speculative hands.

Your post flop bet is ridiculously low, there are flush and straight draws and you bet about 1/5 of the pot which once again gives your villains ridiculously favourable odds to see a turn card which isn't what you want on a very dangerous board like this.

There isn't really much wrong with your turn and river play but you did make horrible decisions pre and post flop!

I would make a pot sized raise preflop, Bet the pot on the flop so there would probably be too much in the pot to fold the turn.

Firstly you bet the flop, not raised, the terminology is important here and you are looking at you bet size incorrectly, on the flop you bet size shouldn't be dependant on what the blinds are, these are now irrelevant. Your bet size should be dependant on the size of the pot and whatever % size of the pot you prefer.
