Just looking for some tips re a new white oak stair case which is being presently fitted. Looks like it will need a little sanding in some areas. What is the best way to finish it ? Lacquer or varnish ?? We have purchased a tin of Ronseal Diamond Floor varnish - the quickdry one , in a satin finish. But before we tackle it I would welcome some advice.

    thanks in anticipation

    Secman
