this may seem trivial but yesterday i bought a toasted sdw in O'briens Lvalley
i watched her make the sdw from the corner of the counter and she toasted the bread and mircowaved the fillin of cheese and chicken! is this acceptable?
i have work in many restaurants / cafes and never have i seen this being done! i paid 5 euro for the sdw and have been thinkin since that Ireland is such a rip off! thanks Bertie

Sounds like she was doing you a favour, except if she did it correctly, you wouldn't be able to taste the chicken and cheese for at least 20mins.

There are few places I'd buy a sambo and O'Bs isn't one of them!!

Then don't pay it. Make your own at home and bring it to work with you.

She was just taking a shortcut for your convenience. Just like typing sdw to save us having to read a whole word ;)

I only opened this thread to find out what a sdw was :D

Never saw that done in our local OBriens. They put the sdw thru a conveyor belt toaster. But those toasters break down now and again. Perhaps thats why she nuked your filling.

Its always the same. We see something a bit off, but just pay up and walk away. When we should stay at the counter and ask the staff 'why did you just do that?'

Subway put their hot fillings into a microwave - usually at a medium heat.

Still taste great - far better than OB's IMO.

I thought initially it was maybe salmon, dill & watercress?

Or, maybe less likely, sausage, dates & watermelon?

Can't think of many foods that start with d (or w or s for that matter).
