I don't know how well I played this hand but judging by the looks I was getting off the Villian, I don't think it was too well.

Anyway I'll let my fellow Boardies ridicule me too.

    Fitz 40,
    Blinds 50/100

    My Stack ~7000
Villain Covers by about 2000 or a bit more.

I am on the Button With 10 7 diamonds.

    UTG Calls
Folded around to Villain in Hijack who makes it 600 to go
    Cut Off Calls
    I call ( good? bad? Ok? )
    UTG Folds
    Both blinds Muck

    Pot 1950

    Flop: 6d8d7h

Villain ( Mr. Smurph, ) Checks
    Cut Off checks
    I bet 1200
    Mr. Smurph Calls
    Cut off Folds.

    Pot:4350

    Turn
    7clubs
    Board now. 6d8d7h7c

    Mr. Smurph Checks
I double my bet plus some to 2800
    Mr. Smurph Calls

    River 5s
    Mr. Smurph Immediately Pushes

    I?????

its martin, its a rebuy tourney, you should fold pre flop, u didn't, you gotta call now - and then just cry when he turns over pocket 9's for the straight...

Not calling a raise with those cards myself in a month of Sundays. 9's sound right.

fold preflop, Im thinking you only have 2,400 left behind so you got to call getting c.5/1. I wouldnt be surprised to see AA or KK here from Martin. If so im not sure about his river push as you should only fold a busted flush draw. Any made straight or 7 should call.

I don't mind seeing flops for cheap with these speculative hands, but when you call a 6x BB raise with 107d, you're just spewing chips, since most of the time nothing solid will come of it. As played, you have to call, you have committed ~65% of your stack here and anything less than a call is just plain awful.

why does 1010, jj, qq, kk, aa not sound right? Especially KK & AA.

In saying the way its been played looks like martin is happy to cal you down and give you cards so I'm maybe thinking he's got you on a f/d and nothing else which would be unlike him.

edit, - didn;t realise it was still in rebuy period.

would you c/c AA or KK on the flop and on the turn and then push on the river - unlikely - pocket 9's makes the most sence, overpair and OESD on the flop, 2 pair on the turn and straight on the river - when he pushes...

I did only call because at this stage a fold would have been so horrible. I was 50% sure I was good also. I felt he was pushing any river and that the 5 as a scare card made it easier for him to do it.

I have not played with him before so I dont know how he plays.

    Also I called preflop because

    a. I was in position against a solid player who could make a laydown and the cutoff who was a gambler who would pay me off if I hit.
    b. the pot before my call was 1500 so I was gettin 2.5-1
    c. I was nearly sure I was not dominated
    d. these are the speculative hands you stack people with
    e. it was the rebuy period and I was building a stack or going home.

pocket 9's may be the most obvious but that doesn't mean he has them. If we always put people on the nuts no-one would ever get to showdown.

bet more on the flop so you can PSB shove on the turn

No cause the majority of ppl would push on the turn,

btw, if you have never played with him before- y do u call him "Mr smurph"

damn his river shove is ugly. you only fold a busted FD here and having bet 2 streets I dont think he should be putting you on a lone fd.

Since its the rebuy period, push preflop

I dont mind the call preflop as long as you're planning to use the button to your advantage should you miss. Nice flop for your hand but i'd bet 1600 rather than 1200.

I dont think Martin would have an overpair here because he would have CRAI on the flop with 99+. I'd guess he would probably do the same with the flush draw. Martins line just looks like a stone cold bluff and i'd have instacalled and expected to see KJ or some rubbish like he had.

I might even have checked behind on the turn against Martin because i'd expect him to push a scare river card

I am actually a female, The Mr. Smurph they refer to is my other half Martin who plays cards aswell and goes by the name Rx8 on boards but somehow now gets called "Mr. Smurph". I asked him about this hand and his recollection is slightly different, but the bast*ard is fast asleep while im in work after 2 hours sleep:( :( god I had 1st day in work after Bank Holiday weekend....
