Talked to a good few people after the Waterford/Cork game, and every single one of them think Waterford will win the semi, (both Waterford fans and neutrals) some say they'll win easily, some reckon it could be close, but nobody gives Limerick a chance.

Watch out Waterford is my advice! Limerick are lying in the long grass waiting for yihs.

Waterford will be big favourites, but they've just come through two tough games against Cork, and are straight into another one on Sunday. Limerick are well rested, and are improving with every game, and I personally think we've a great chance. Lots of lessons have been learnt since the Munster Final, and hopefully the same mistakes won't be made.

Limerick might just pull off the shock and win this one. What do yee think?

Limerick will give it a good go, but I expect a Waterford win. They are on a mission this year, to have a certain Liam brought to Waterford on Monday September 3rd.

Limerick just do not have enough in the tank at the moment , They are improving alot and i am delighted to see them in the semi against Waterford , But Waterford have strength all over the field and can deal with any team now , Limerick will br tough but they give away alot of frees and could not deal with waterfords Forward line , I do not expect this to be easy but i see it as Waterford first half second half ...

I can only see one result in this one. Waterford by a big margin and big bad dan with a goal or two.

The final vs the cats will be different game altogether

I dont see it by much 4-5 points only i reckon ,

Agreed Kilkenny are different story but i really feel we are in the best shape we have ever been fit and hungry but u could not call a final between these two either , But lets not get carried away Limerick will want this semi also

    Kinda off topic..

Will this be a sellout with kerry and monaghan fans at it? Monaghan will bring a big crowd as will waterford and limerick just checked ticketmaster and no tickets available

The Limerick of the last few years were mediocre, with forwards who wouldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo.......and other cliches. This Limerick team however, different story. Andrew O Shaughnessy is one of the finest forwards in the country, and is beginning to realise his potential, scoring 11 points against Clare.

There was nothing really in the Munster Final until the last 10 minutes, Dan the Man again. If we can put the shackles on him, we've every chance.

I'd certainly have to disagree with anyone who thinks Waterford will have an easy win. Limerick will battle for every ball, and rest assured aren't coming to Croker on Sunday to make up the numbers. I'm expecting a tough battle, and while I conceed Waterford do have that bit more class than us at the moment, I still think this game could go either way.

I'd expect in the region of 70,000 + on Sunday. Plenty of Limerick, Waterford, and Monaghan I'd say. Dunno will Kerry travel in great numbers.

There are 2 sides to having a good break between matches tho. As i said about Meath football, sometimes the toughest route can be the best. All that remains is whether WF have the stamina to last it, if so, the extra games would have helped alot, whereas a long break can destroy your momentum. Like with Meath, having matches in close succession keeps the previous game fresh in your mind and keeps your momentum rolling from game to game. Id say a close enough match but Waterford by a 2 pts or a goal.

You would never know. The Munster Council may have accidentally advertised it as the Final. Then they would bring a crowd. :D

I think Waterford will win because they'll get goals against Limerick. It's not going to be a landslide, 4-5 points will do it as BSP said. Limerick should be fresher but wasteful shooting will cost them in the end. Add that to Ken McGrath controlling the game from centre-back and I can only see one outcome. I really think this is Waterford's year and they seem to want it more than anybody else.

Waterford should win, simply because of the fear factor of losing another semi. We've lost 4 AI semis in 8 years. But they were all against tough teams and while Limerick have a good side, they don't compare to Kilkenny in 04 or Cork last year. The deise wont let this opportunity slip.

Bit of bad news on the injury side though. Eoin Kelly got 10 stitches in his hand and is almost certainly out of Sundays game which is a pity, he had a very good second half. Eoin McGrath or possibly Dave Bennett should replace him. Tony Browne is a doubt aswell.

Thats a big miss alright and I hope he's not missed as I singled him out as my man of the match for his 2nd half performance apart from Molumphy

Agreed. Limerick are a very strong, physical team which will be exactly the last thing waterford will want after 2 tough games in two weeks. Waterford will try and drag Begley and Lucey out of position in order to make space for their inside forwards to run onto the breaking ball and go for goal.

Waterford, sometimes, have a tendancy to shoot horrible wides - remember the one Mullane shot last Sunday against Cork down at the Canal end and he was straight in front of goal. Also, some of Ken McGrath's long range frees in the drawn Cork match. If they shoot too many of these the next day, then limerick are in with a great chance. If Phelan is marking Shaughnessey, then Shocks could open up that dodgy Waterford FB line. However, I believe that Justin McCarthy will deploy Aidan Kearney to mark SHaughnessey, as Kearney is one of the best man-markers that the deisce have.

If Limerick dont implode, they haven't done so this year which is a good sign, then in a year or 2 they should be near enough to where Waterford are at right now in terms of development and All-Ireland prospects. However, at the present moment in time I feel that Waterford will win this match by about 4 to 5 points. They would probably win by more if they hadn't to have playes 2 matches in 2 weeks before next Sunday.
