How much would one of these be? I'd love a sweet car like one of these.

well you can pick up a 70s chevy camaro for about as low as 1500 dollars on ebay - it would need a good bit of work though and wouldnt have the hood ornament ;)

also it would cost about a grand to ship it over.

was very tempted by one the other day that looked just like bumblebee in transformers!!

For 1500 dollars it will need a Hell of a lot of work!:D and it would be a late seventies/early eighties, or mid eighties example.
The car in your picture is a 67/68 Camaro SS, one of the most desireable (actually THE most desireable of the Camaro range) and they are very sought after, and command high prices!! especially if they're original SS's. So although no doubht you can pick up a Camaro for under 2k, don't be fooled into thinking that you can pick up a nice condition late sixties SS for under 10k!!!! A genuinely good, very well restored, super condition 67/68/69 Camaro will be in excess of 20k at least, and I have seen TOP Concours, tuned cars (like the one in your photograph) go for as much crazy prices in the region of 50-60k.

On a final note, I would need to stress that when you import from the US, the car will be coming from outside the EU union and therefore you will be liable to pay VAT to the tune of 21% on what you paid for the car PLUS the transport costs!! and then also Import duties, I would say something like 10% of something or other. Once you've paid those duties you can take the car out of the dock yard, and only THEN you need to pay VRT. If the car is older than 30 years, fine, it'll only be 50 euro's...

Numerous people have contacted me for advice, and had been sprung a nasty surprise, NOT realising these duties when they bought a car in the US/South Africa or even Switserland for that matter!!
It all looks very tempting these cars on e-bay, but make sure you do your homework before you move. Sure, prices are a bit higher in Europe, but at least it's a lot easier to check out your goods beforehand, or get some sort of recourse when things are not what they were made out to be...

And then I haven't even mentioned the fact that more than half of the stuff on e-bay is in fact a scam or downright dodgy...
