[REQ] Monitor for laptop

    Required: Monitor for laptop.

I recently bought a laptop and now am looking for a separate stand alone monitor. I have my old monitor from my old desktop but its a bit bulky so I'd like to get a flat screen narrow one.

Looking on the dell website they all look very expensive to buy separately. It looks almost cheaper to buy a desktop with no extras and then use the monitor for my laptop.

Also since I have a desktop and a laptop does anyone know if it possible to get a sort of hub which would plug into both the desktop and the laptop and have a switch between the desktop and laptop display. If possible I'd like to plug my TV input also (I have NTL). Ideally I'd like to avoid unplugging everything just to change the input.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The hub you are talking about would be a Docking station. Generally you just sit your laptop into one of these and everythign transfers to it.

I.E. External mouse, keyboard, LCD, Ethernet, Power, USB Devices, etc etc.

You should try using your laptop for dual screen this way.

Depends on you laptop manufacturer for the docking station but Toshiba do a great new USB one that does everything. Not sure if it only works on Tosh's tho.

Check adverts.ie for LCD's from DELL I just sold a 19" widescreen on there ( well not confirmed yet ) but there are bound to be other offers up there too in the future
