Just went onto RSOV and seen that they were selling what looked like at first glance a clone of the SIG552. Yipee been waiting for this like since last year. Begged the wife to let me order it but wait its only €22. AH crap its the same as that LPEG I bought in Salou 2 years ago. :(DE SIG552. Will a decent clone ever come out of the TM SIG552.

The LPEG is the Cyma one.

There are on & off noises about a 'proper' (not LPEG) JG one in the works (topic keeps surfacing on the French 'cheapos' airsoft forum - see the pic in here).

I've nearly completed my fund for the TM one, been biding my time a couple of months now :)

Knowing my luck, JG will come out with it (or worse... DBoys with a full metal one :D ) mere days after I buy the TM '552 from eHobby.

ach yes but you will at least know you bought the real deal.... like buying a dvd instead of a pirate copy.

You just bought a TM m14? Niiiiiiiiiiice! They're a work of art. Try not to drool on it too much though...no one wants to handle a sticky m14.

M14 with a scope makes a good marksmans weapon.

Looks good Ambro. Haven seen tcob's SIG552, it is a lovly gun. I would say "Go get it man". It was going to be my first but then I decided I could get my Galaxy MP5 and a full metal M9 for the same price as the TM SIG552 and still have change. But I will have one some day.

Technically it should only be as accurate as an aug with similar power and the same barrel length.

Yeah CYMA have an LPEG version and so do Double Eagle. The on I got was a DE and if you could have such a thing it was a Crappy LPEG.

This is a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway...

What kind of gearbox have those LPEG's got ? Can they be replaced with a metal version 2 or 3, and a better spring ? Or are they a completely different design internally ?

Looking at mine it has a seethrough plastic reciver. The fps has got to be down around 250. The mag for it is even different to the TM version. The plastic is cheap and nasty so to be honest I dont think it would take a new gear box. I have never opened it to honest. I gave it to my daughter to try out (under supervision and wearing prtective eyegear of course) and she is even sick of it. A guy on Arnies has a post up. He stripped down both the CYMA and the DE versions and tried to put the two together.

unfortunetly the Tm version whould make chumps of our poor Aug's in that regard :(

    well you lucky french git...

Nothing lucky 'bout it - just patiently stacking the pennies with squirrelly precision as, unlike most posters in here (Shiva and a few other notables excepted), I also have a full family to run and other hobbies, so can't afford to splurge as much €s on airsoft as I'd like ;)

Especially as I'm still tricking out the DBoys (expecting ACE stock from Gunner and TM Pro Silencer 110mm + King Arms midcaps from eHobby any day now - hopefully before Saturday)

And especially as RC-what's-his-name has vanished from Earth and still not bought my TM Centimeter or my DBoys metal hicaps :(

Ah well, now, ya see... about M14s and "getting second ones"... there's them very insistent noises about KART's impending EBR version of the M14, which may very well come a very very close second to the SIG 552... maybe even overtake it, by the time I'm ready to order :D
