I accidentaly bid and won an item I do not want. It's not what I thought it was. (Its advertised as an Ipod dock, but when googling I found it actually dosent charge the Ipod, just has speakers!) How can I get out of buying it? Can I?

And yes I'm aware I am stupid.

Not much you can do, contact the seller maybe and let them know but you'll probably have to end up paying for it.

Sounds like you maybe a little snookered.. did you direct any questions to the seller regarding whether it could charge the iPod or not..

If not then maybe best to contact the seller and see if they'll relist it..

    **edit**

    What the Ruu'meister said - he's quick :)

As Ruu said, try explain to the seller. If you do have to pay, see if he will come to an agreement. like refund you then you buy what you need of him

What happens if I just.... don't pay? Negative feedback and he relists the item? Or am I likely to have my account closed down or worse

negative feedback at least... you wont have your account closed unless you do this 3 times in a short space of time.

If its small money, just pay for it and give it to someone as a pressie this Christmas or even resell on eBay.

But now for the future, you know.... don't want, don't bid! :)

If you found out soon enough you could have retracted. Bad bids is another good reason to use sniping software. I recommend www.snip.pl

I have placed bids only to discover it was not the item I wanted or saw another cheaper. Snip will not put a bid on until the end, but sometimes I put a very low initial bid in just so the seller cannot pull the item early

I have found quite alot of items say intially one thing then mean another.Been duped a few times now..Now I avoid ebay..I would rather go to a recognised dealer and pay the extra to get what I actually want..It's a farce!! Not ebay but some of the sellers are waaaay to dodgy!
